Attractions Near Ranthambore National Park
1. Sunehri Kothi, Tonk :
This is a beautiful palace that is around 87.3 km from this wild park. Many people visit this place because it is the Mansion of Gold. The interior of this nice palace is made of polished gold and intricate artwork of diamonds and glasses. It has a nice architecture which attracts a lot of tourists every year. People get attracted because of its grand appearance. If you go there and see it from the outside then you will think that this is an old common Haveli but from the inside, it is decorated with grandeur. The inside of this haveli shows the Persian and Rajput styles of construction done here.
2. Garh Palace, Bundi :
This is a famous place in Bundi and is famous because it is untouched by the Mughal architectural style. This place is around 145 km from the park and it was once the residence of the royal family of Bundi. The walls of this palace can be seen vibrantly painted, depicting the lifestyles of the royal ancestors. In every corner, one can see the Chhatris, Hathi Pol, netted walls made of sandstones, etc that show the architectural brilliance of Rajasthan.
3. Chand Baori Stepwell, Dausa:
This stepwell is around 162 km and it’s a photogenic one. It’s a historic place as the stepwell was built thousands of years ago and is probably the oldest stepwell in India. It’s a 13-storeyed stepwell that has symmetrical construction of triangular stairs. Using those steps, people can go to the bottom and also come back the same. The stairs are made on 3 sides of the well and they are accurately created and look like a diamond. If you come here in summer, then you can feel like this is a natural cooler.
4. Mehandipur Balaji Temple, Karauli:
This is a famous temple among Hindus and it is around 176 km from the park. This is in the Dausa district of Rajasthan and is a respected pimdrimage site. The presiding deity of the temple is believed to have some powerful energies. The Hindus believe that the people under the spell of black magic or possessed by some evil spirit can be cured here. They believe that those people can seek relief here.
5. Amer Fort, Jaipur:
This fort is around 145 km from the Ranthambore National Park, and it is one of the best tourist attractions of Rajasthan. People who come here can get an amazing view of the whole pink city from the top of the fort and also you can shop for different things here. This fort is atop a hill and is an extensive palace complex that has been built with pale yellow and pink sandstone with white marble. This fort has two different entry gates, one is the Suraj Pol and the other one is the Chand Pol.
6. Adhai Din ka Jhonpra, Ajmer:
This is a famous place near the park which is around 247 km. This one is a ruined one but it is
famous because it stands as a testament to the monstrosity of the Mughals. Before the
constriction of this Adhai Din ka
Jhonpra, this place was covered with a Sanskrit college and a Saraswati temple. Some documents
prove that Seth Viramdev Kala built the square-shaped building for the Jain pimdrimage but after
the invasion of Muhammad
Ghori, the prevailing temple and college were destroyed and a mosque was erected.
The construction of this Adhai Din ka Jhonpra was completed in just 2 & ½ days and because of
that people call it like this. This one is the oldest mosque in India and is definitely one of
the oldest surviving
monuments of Ajmer city.
